How To Manually Add a New Product, With a New Material Type
Adding New Material Type
When adding a new product into SecturaFAB, that requires a new Material type, you can use one of two methods to accomplish this (Manual vs. Excel). In this guide, we will be showing you how to add them into SecturaFAB manually.
- Click on the gear/ cog to get to the set-up menu
- Click Material Types in the bottom left box labeled INVENTORY
- Since we are adding a new material, we will need to click the ADD button
- Once your New Material screen is open, we will need to add the following information:
- Material Name
- Group
- Product Type
- Remark (description of the material)
- You will also want to disable the Add Cost and Add Thickness Map by removing the check mark from both of these boxes
- Once the required information is there, you can click the green CREATE in the bottom left, below the New Material screen

Adding a New Product
- Now that we have our new Material created, we can add a new product into the system
- first, Navigate to the Products drop down menu
- Once the menu is displayed, Select Products
- Click the orange ADD button to add a New Product
- Now that the New Products screen is open, you can start to put the necessary information in.
- For this example, we are using the material we just created, A500 Square Tube. The necessary fields may differ, depending on the product type and sub type you choose
- Product type
- Sub Type
- Product Name (part number)
- Description (optional)
- Material
- Size
- Wall Thickness
- Lastly, you will click the green Create button to create your new product
- This Guide was to demonstrate how to manually enter new material types and new products. You can always use the export and import function to first, export the list of materials/ products in a csv file, add your new materials/ products into new rows in the csv file, then import that file.
